THE STARTING PLACE Over the weekend, I was working for the @teambmc on the Student Safety Seminar held at @plasybreninofficial. For many people their first proper experience of climbing and mountains comes at university. Unfortunately unlike other
BEHIND THE SCENES Running a small business involves a surprising amount of admin. In the last weeks, I've had numerous tech advice meetings, colloboration meetings, pricing meetings, and meetings to sort the renewal of our AALA licence (which I'm p
TIME OF CHANGE Last weekend I was back in the mountains for 3 days of skills and scrambling with Sian and son Dylan. We linked Ordinary route on Idwal Slabs into Cniefion Arete despite a damp start on Friday. Saturday was ridiculously grim so we st
SLIPPERY A very wet weekend in Snowdonia working for the RAF Mountaineering Association... well done to all the psyched folk I had out scrambling in Tryfan, around Idwal slabs and up Glyder Fach today. I've had the fire on to dry out all my wet kit!

HEATWAVE It's been slowly warming up over the last couple of weeks. After six months in Antarctica I was looking forward to warmth but it's only the last few days the dial got brutally turned! I don't think I've seen such high temps in North Wales.
FAMILY ADVENTURES Young people need opportunities to try outdoor adventures but we understand how daunting that could be as a parent to take your little ones out. Our team has loads of experience guiding young people on outdoor activities at the cr
SHOWERY SNOWDONIA After a week in Scotland with the North Wales based @rafmountainrescueservice team it was home for a week with the Scottish team! Despite the frequent and occasionally heavy showers we managed a week of climbing, mountaineering an
RETURN TO SUMMER After six months in the monochrome world of Antarctica, it was great to get back to the green hills of Scotland. Over a week of training with the @rafmountainrescueservice Valley Team, we visited Torridon, Kintail, and the Cuillin
SELF RESCUE British climbing really punches above it's weight particularly in terms of adventure. Trad ethics in wild places whether in the mountains or on sea cliffs can push the line between epic and cruisey. But if something did go wrong wheth
OUTDOOR EDUCATION We believe we are experts in multi activity Outdoor education. As hard as it is to say we are expert in lots of activities, the activity is only a vehicle to facilitate personal development of young (and older!) people Outdoors an
SCRAMBLING Probably our most popular type of booking is for scrambling. Scrambling and mountaineering (and alpinism) are quite interchangeable terms for similar things and North Wales is incredible for both. The majority of folk come for either an
CHALLENGES Lots of folk are familiar with some of the popular UK mountain challenges. Probably one of the more well known is the UK 3 peaks challenge (which we don't do for various reasons), however one of the more niche events is the Welsh 3000ers
CONSOLIDATION Climbing instructors training for @mtntraining qualifications often need further input after their training course, to prepare for assessment. We've got lots of experience training, mentoring amd assessing and every year we help candi
GOALS We know what it's like to have goals. I constantly write lists of things I'd like to do. But what do you do if you don't have the skills to achieve those goals? A big part of what we offer is technical instruction, training, and support to a
